25 hours, 54 minutes, and 49 seconds until 25 Man Raiding (W: VoA/ToC/Ony S&M: Ulduar)!
Guild Code of Conduct
By applying to Instability (and/or when accepting an invitation into the Guild), it is understood that you have (1)Read and agreed to our Code of Conduct and, (2)Share our aspirations and will conduct yourselves appropriately at all times.
Players in breach of the Code of Conduct will be given warnings (depending on the severity of the offense), and repeat offenders will have further actions taken against them.
This is what we do in our leisure time. We like to keep the governance stuff to a minimum. We,like you, want to spend time raiding and exploring new content. Please go to a younger guild if youre prone to frequent fits of temper tantrums, dummy spitting, attention seeking and so on. Really, we like to spend our valued leisure hours with mature people who demonstrate mutual respect for each other and preferably, have a great sense of humor!
What we want from our game time.
We are a casual but committed raiding guild. We want to explore end game content. We just dont think people should have to give up their lives to do that. We therefore have both an Active Raid Team and casual raiding members.
Casual members have no minimum weekly raid attendance requirement. If you wish to attend a scheduled raid, sign up for the raid. Preference will be given to ART members when we are working on developing strats for various boss fights. However, everyone can wait list themselves for any and all raids. At raid time Raid Leaders will assess class balance and/or gear requirements and send out invites to those wait listed. We will of course endeavor to provide enough weekly raids to give as many people as possible raid time in all raid instances. ART members are encouraged to step aside to free up raid spaces for more casual members for established boss kills.
When you join Instability you join with your main toon. Alts are welcome into the guild however we are not a Power leveling guild. So do not request power leveling from other Guildies. 5 and 10 man runs can be added to the in game event calendar (assuming no conflict with our web site raid calendar which always overrides GEM schedules). We are very strict on this. Our senior players spend much of their time farming for consumables and gear that enhance our raid survivability. We consider that IMPORTANT. If we survive raids, we progress. If you see a senior member herbing or farming cloth or mining nodes or heading to an heroic/arena or BG to have yet another crack at a targeted epic, please do not say hey theyre not busy, maybe they can run my priest thru SM?. We are busy and no we can't. So dont ask. Put your SM run in the GEM calendar and see if any other guildies also sign. If they do, great! If they dont please use LFG or wait for another day.
The points we consider to be the basics of mature, respectful play.
*Respect your fellow players - whether the player is a guildie or not. If there are issues that arise between players, Officers or Guild Master can arbitrate. Please have screen shots of the incident to aid the resolution.
*Remember to always ENCOURAGE. CRITICISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM and is a /gkickable offense
*You have Officers, listen to them and act when required. If an Officer, Raid Leader or GM instructs you to do something in a raid, just do it. Raiding is not the time for arguments. You can discuss alternate strats at appropriate times, but never when an event timer is ticking. That is common sense. The only time an Officer etc. will instruct you to perform a specific task is when it will benefit the Guild or raid as a whole. When in game, if you join any Raid, follow orders given by the Raid Leaders at all time.
* Be on time for raids and do not leave early without giving the raid leader prior notice. The raid is finished when the raid leader calls it (which will always be in consultation with members of the raid). Always remember there are 10 or 25 people in the team and the time of all members is valuable. Dont waste the time of your fellow raiders.
The following actions are simply unacceptable.
* Abusive language towards other players (in-game, and in the forums). It is understandable that frustration gets the best of us at times, but there is no need to manifest this as a personal attack or abuse towards other players. Theres a difference between simple bickering and outright offensiveness.
* Racist/sexist remarks in guild chat. There's a line between humor and offense, don't cross it.
* Swearing on Vent and in guild chat. Period
* Selfish game play. It is understandable that players may have their own goals and aims in the World of Warcraft. However, as a guild, it is expected that each member contribute and participate in guild activities where possible. Please consult an officer before raid locking your main to a raid instance with another guild or raid group. Its certainly not forbidden to do so, in fact if senior members are researching new content it may be encouraged in some circumstances. However, if a guild raid is ever prevented because of external raid locking that has not been sanctioned by the guild leadership, this will be considered selfish gameplay. Support your fellow raiding guildies.
* Spamming chat channels. Boring for all.
* Begging. Low and just plain embarrassing.
* Hacking. Lower than low.
* Fraudulent trading and Ninja looting. So low we cant begin to describe it.
Finally, our practical raiding requirements:
Ventrilo is a MUST for Raiders. To put it simply, if you do not have Ventrilo you are unable to effectively communicate with the rest of the raid, nor can you listen to and carry out instructions given to you by the Raid Leader. All players must have it installed and have a functioning head set. Also Vent is to be used as it was intended. Make sure you are in the designated channel for your event. Youll find us a relaxed guild but we have a strict policy that only appropriate communications relating to gameplay are permitted over the mic during boss fights. You are welcome to utilize our Vent server to chat with Friends and Family in the assigned channel, but we ask you keep the Guild Channel passwords to yourself.
